Use the correct filler phrase
If the interviewer asks you a hard question, and you are sure of its answer, it is advisable not to say “I don't know”. Instead, say a filler phrase like, “That's an excellent question” to get a little amount of time to formulate an appropriate answer, and such responses generally gives the interviewer's ego a little boost too.
